Fleetwood Mac to Sheryl Crow: Uh ... not so fast

FwmAbove: Fleetwood Mac at Kemper in 2003. Sheryl Crow was not part of the band then, either.

Rumors of her admission to Fleetwood Mac were big news, even to some people in the band. Billboard reports this reaction from Lindsey Buckingham:

"I think we were all a little surprised (Crow) was announcing that to the world with such certainty. We have talked about the possibility of bringing another woman into the scene to kind of give Stevie a sort of foil and shake it up a little bit. (Crow) was certainly a name that has come up. We'll have to see."

Sounds like she misspoke. Maybe she was sleep-deprived.
