Gary Oldman

Excellent! Here's hoping it's a "low-dough" show!

mothman

We'll see; my guess is you'll need to work with Mr. Grant to get in ($50).

nickthenerd

Ticketmaster is showing 35 bux per ticket, just an FYI.

mrbrown

So with service charges that comes to $230?

and to think Smithers, you scoffed when I bought ticketmaster

NEW

"So with service charges that comes to $230?"

You're probably not to far off on the Ticketbastard surcharge thing. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and drive over to the Uptown Box office. The last time I did this, I saved about $50 over ordering them on-line (for 4 tickets).

nickthenerd

Typically I would say this is a good idea but since Kings of Leon sold out in the first two hours, I am tempted to eat the 7 dollars per ticket.

I'm not going to miss the concert this time.

If Kings of Leon can sell out that quick, then I imagine the tickets for MM will sell just as quick considering the crowd they had at Buzz under the stars just two years ago.

mankvill

I'm in, brosefs.

Bubba

I, for one H-A-T-E Ticketmaster! How do they handle refunds THESE days? Used to be you buy, say four tickets and the show gets canceled - WHAM! You 'eat' the service charge of ALL FOUR tickets. That's highway f***ing robbery, MADE legal! WHY can't they charge you ONE service charge for the ENTIRE lot of tickets you buy? Years ago {before the Internet}, I'd call their office too SEE what kind of seats they had left over - was forced to speak to this REAL corporate dork-o that TRIED to make ME feel bad for slamming Ticketmaster for over-charging on their service charge. UNLESS we get ZEPPELIN (w/PLANT) or maybe another must-see as such, I'll likely NEVER use Tick-Off Master AGAIN! They suck!

drew

to echo what NEW said, just save yourself a few bucks and go to another box office. there's one at the swing shop in the american jazz museum. i always go there for tix since nobody realizes it's an outlet.

onthemark

I drove over to Harrah's last weekend to buy tix for Todd Snider and Derek Trucks. Saved $35 in ticketbastard fees by doing that. It adds up!

lucas

The only fee you save in person is the onling handling fee or whatever it's called, which is like 3 or 4 bucks. They still levy a service charge on every ticket, even at the outlet. I'm sure you older folks remember the Ticketbastard t'shirts that were popular a few years back. Still rings true. FYI, the Granada and Bottleneck, as well as some other local venues are using Frontgate, which charges 3.75 per ticket and a small handling fee. If you go to a low dollar show, you can see 50% fees from those TM a$$holes. And they don't stick around for cuddling either!

drew

the point is that you would save, in general. thanks for the oh-so-helpful insights.

Bubba

Ha-ha! Lucus - I like your name for them - Ticketbastard. Radio ad: "Get your tickets for any area event at Ticketbastard - all happenings - music, sports or monster truck shows. The company that literally robs you blind as a freaking bat - remember the name - TICKETBASTARD!".

lucas

drew, I hardly consider it a "savings" when I have to find one of few available outlets, get in my car, take time out of my day, etc. etc. to go purchase something that can be bought at the click of a button, while perched on my couch or office chair. Sure, I'd rather not give TM my cash. However, they are opportunistic and I'm willing. I'd just rather they not be so greedy!

Glad you enjoyed that Bubba! I can already hear the commercials.

poo-face

bubba, people have been saying 'ticketbastard' for years. welcome to the 21st century.

aquaman

Got my three tickets for the Killers - Tickets were $96 - total charge - almost $130frickindollars.

That's just wrong.
