The starting time I wrote down was 8:40 p.m., which was when the P.A. system started playing whatever ironic '80s disco song brought the band on stage. The show ended a few minutes before the time I wrote down -- 10:15 p.m -- because, like almost everyone else in the theater, I couldn't believe the show was over.

The lovely song-siren Jennifer Nettles and that other guy are coming to Sprint Center on May 29. Also on the bill: Billy Currington and Matt Nathanson. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. March 6 (Friday), long after all the presales are finished.
We are getting both of them: the Def Leppard, Cheap Trick, Poison tour, which comes to town on July 21, a Tuesday; and the R.E.O. Speedwagon, Styx, .38 Special Tour, which comes to Starlight Theatre on June 4, a Thursday. Tickets for that go on sale March 7.
According to Pollstar, the Def Leppard/Cheap Trick show is at Sprint Center. It also confirms what a reader posted yesterday: Motley Crue is coming to Sprint Center on Aug. 9, a Sunday.
Pollstar has posted a July 21 date for the "Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival" out at the Bonner Springs amphitheater. The lineup includes Slayer, Marilyn Manson, Bullet for My Valentine, Trivium and seven other bands. We also heard that Rancid and Rise Against are playing out there in August. It's either a seperate show, or they're part of the 2009 Warped Tour, which comes to town on Aug. 4. Sites for the tour haven't been announced; and neither band is on the current list.
They are coming to Starlight Theatre on July 6, a Monday. It's No Doubt's first tour since 2004. One of these openers will also perform: the Sounds, Bedouin Soundclash or local gal Janelle Monae. The fanclub pre-sale starts Thursday; general-public sale starts March 7.
It didn’t take much for Flogging Molly to transform Fat Tuesday into St. Patrick’s Day. The Celtic punk band performed a blazing 90-minute set before a sold-out Uptown Theater crowd Tuesday night. The evening opened at full throttle with “Man With No Country,” a joyous jangle of guitars, violin, banjo and drums.
