It's fairly typical country-pop that's far from "the poorest excuse for a country song ever", I can think of several that are far more obnoxious. "Have You Forgotten?", anyone?

musicfan

How about "Redneck Yacht Club"? GAH! I can't STAND that song.

Zod

Ack. Sounds like something a small-town Methodist church would teach kids to sing during vacation bible school.

I would nominate for consideration Tim McGraw's "Indian Outlaw."

Clint

That song is pretty bad...

But we get it, you don't like country. Where are all the posts or YouTube videos about all the awful pop music on the radio right now? It is the state of pop music that makes artists like this and Taylor Swift go the country route...

Stacey

So we don't get reviews of country concerts on a regular basis but you feel the need to talk about this. Doesn't make sense to me.

bob

That song is about as country as Johnson County.

"Where are all the posts or YouTube videos about all the awful pop music on the radio right now? "

Even David doesn't have the gumption to search for Lady Gaga videos.

NEW

Taylor Swift? Is this who you are holding up as an example of someone who has integrity by going the commercial country route? Did you see her performance with Def Leppard? Talk about your no talent ass clowns!

Leigh M.

Amen Stacey! What's worse is when they DO review country concerts, it's only the people they complain about being "pop country".

There have been a few smaller country/Texas music acts come to town recently playing good music..not that you would here about it on this blog or site in general.

Nick

i need help...i can't stop singing this song!

Leigh M.

I personally like think of this band as Barbie, Dark-haired Barbie, Ken, and Ken's odd older brother.

It is a catchy little tune that get's stuck in your head.

Dale

Why do bands like this have to associate themselves with country music? Couldn't they just soil the pop music category? Man, this stuff is just awful.

NEW

"There have been a few smaller country/Texas music acts come to town recently playing good music..not that you would here about it on this blog or site in general." Leigh M.

Leigh, those smaller acts out of TX generally are reviewed in this column. For example, there was a really nice Lucinda review just a few weeks ago. It's just the manufactured Nashville crud that is ignored, with good reason.
