Went to see Kid Rock and Skynyrd. I was amazed at how well behaved the crowd in general was. Of course there was some over drinking and a little weed going on, but the crowd was into the performances, which I will say, were quite good. I have not seen either one before, believe it or not, and was quite pleased with the overall performances. We were down in the pit with 2 15 year olds, and never felt that they were at risk the entire night, other than the occasional boob, but really not too many of those either. People were in the party mood, but I personally did not see anything get out of hand. Good playlist with pretty much everyone doing the singalongs for most of the night.

We were at Dierks Bentley Thursday night at Power & Light. It was a great show and the place was packed! They had to turn people away.

Wilco @ Red Rocks in Colorado. I'm from KC and was out here for the 4th, so this is only loosely affiliated with the post...flying back home today.

Went to the Lit show at P&L on Wednesday.

Really enjoy Lit and had seen them a few times previous a few years ago and was looking forward to this show, but unfortunately, the sound was awful up front. I went to the St. Paddy's shows, and was in the same spot and Von Bondies and Silversun Pickups sounded fine.

See you tonight, Gwen!

Stone in Love @ recordBar. Had a great time.

"As Gwen Stefani will suggest tonight at Starlight Theatre, "hollaback"!"

Sorry I missed you at Red rocks, Andrew. Wilco show was awesome- fireworks and a lightning show north of Red Rocks over the band, really cool!

Fri. London Transit CD release party at Czar Bar-ill attended but great performance and the CD is well recorded electro-pop. Kraftwerk meets Cut Copy. (plug) They will be supporting Gil Mantera's Party Dream and Max Justus at recordBar on July 22.

Sat. Soul Servers/Vertigon & Sephiroth/Ces Cru at recordBar. Again, another ill attended show but a great hip-hop "formal". The ladies were dressed to the nines. Vertigon and Sephiroth came off like the Smother's Brothers of hip-hop or something to that effect. I'd never seen a hip hop performance like this in their interaction both lyrically and between song banter. Funny, endearing and very talented. Soul Servers owned w/ their cover of A-ha's Take On Me

Sun. People's Liberation Big Band. This group is a Kansas City treasure. http://www.myspace.com/plbb
That's all I'm going to say other than they are downright brilliant!

I saw Cedrick Burnside and Lightnin Malcom at Knuckleheads on Thursday. Damn good blues. They were awesome
