According to the Associated Press, about 1,200 filled the Forest Lawn memorial hall in Los Angeles to pay tribute to heavy metal hero Ronnie James Dio on Sunday. Others gathered outside (above). Members of the Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka protested outside, according to AP, but apparently stirred little fuss.

Saturday's show at Starlight Theater was an exhibition and a showcase. It showed off the vast and enduring catalog of one of the most dynamic and entertaining bands in popular music over the past 40 years. He's an off-duty cop. They get stopped by a security guard. Read on. Seems like security would have more important things to worry about than who's using what restroom. Unless, of course, it's a guy in the ladies room not respecting the double standard.
Maybe it was the ticket prices. Or just more evidence that the market is saturated and chasing too few dollars. Live Nation is now offering 2-for-1 ticket specials on Lilith Fair. This has not been a good week for the live music industry. The Lilith Fair comes to Sandstone on July 15.
