Damn, thanks for digging up that old school video! Great teaser for tonight's show.

Thanks for the reminder of how much I like these guys. I'm looking forward to the show.

Jealous much?? Why, YES I am. Work had me tied up until 9 PM, which is earlier than I had expected and I thought about trekking over to Knuckleheads to catch some of the Scorchers show, but alas, the roads were starting to resemble a busy and slick Hockey rink, so I decided to white-knuckle it on home. Look forward to a review and comments on the show.

Also wanted to mention yet another interesting show, coming to The Record Bar on Monday, March 19th. Power Pop icons Peter Case and Paul Collins are touring together and performing music from their perspective bands, Peter playing songs from his days with the wonderful Plimsouls, and Peter playing songs from his days in The Beat.

They will also play songs from the band they were both in back in the 70's, The Nerves. Of course, as it is on a Monday night, work will keep me away, unless I get a sudden 24-hour bug that will force me to miss a day. Sounds like a really cool show, but for now, I am really looking forward to the Hugh Cornwell/Glen Matlock showdown at Knuckleheads at the end of next month.

Geordan, they put on a great show last night! Tim was there, so should be a review posted at some point.

My first time to see Jason and the Scorchers and they certainly don't disappoint. Early in the show, Jason seemed to be going through the motions a little but he picked it up as the night went on. There were a lot of devoted followers there that were cheering with each announced song and singing along. After 20+ shows at Knuckleheads, this was my first one since the recent remodel. It really opened up the space nicely. I did not enjoy the sound all that much though. Maybe it is because this is one of the louder shows you will see at Knuckleheads but the sound seemed to overdrive the hanging speakers in front of the stage. It was better if I sat back and over to the side but still I guess I should not expect pristine sound from this "locomotive" act. The drums needed to be "boxed-in" a little so as not to compete as much with the rest of the band. Maybe I am just an old fart (I am) but it seems like loud, indoor shows don't sound so good at Knuckleheads.

I really enjoyed Jason and the band on the outdoor stage when they played there a couple of summers ago and the sound was perfect. As for the indoors, I also like what they have done with the space, although it's a little odd to have to enter through the gift shop now, which is where I have been directed the past couple of shows. But as for indoor sound, I saw Rockabilly guitarist Danny B. Harvey a few weeks back (sadly, only about 20 people turned up-there was double that for Cassie Taylor in the Retro Room that night, whom I saw before hitting most of Danny's set), and although it was one of the louder shows I've ever seen at Knuckleheads (I've rung up over 200 shows there since 2005), it sounded really clear and good. Still bummed about missing Jason this go 'round, though.
