Maybe he needed to be in "Amarillo by morning."

He's a class act, I was there last night, Martina hit it out of the park, I'll gladly be back next Sat. (get well soon George), Garry from P.Hill..

He was absolutely sick! I could hear it in his voice during the first song, but he gave it a shot. I'm more than ok getting to look at him on stage for two weeks in a row. Get better soon George!

I was there and will be back next week. It's a great show. Seth Raymore, Mo

I wonder why it took him so long to get sick?
I get sick everytime I hear this new fangled country crap. Is long term exposure is fatal? I wonder, will there be lawsuits, like for asbestous?
Will there will be ads on TV soon;
"Have you or a loved one been exposed to country music? If so, you may join a class action lawsuit against the cuntry artist who spread this disease."
I feel bad for George and his fans, but they can only blmae themselves, this is what happens when you expose youselves to toxic music.

The King of Country shows what a class act he truly is and his loyalty to his fans! Even Kings get sick .... hope he gets well soon!

Dearest County Music Fans,
Please do not be offended by a certain party calling himself "Esq". He's the Back To Rockville troll or Dump Troll or DT for short. Apparently he thinks it's funny to post RANTS about nearly whatever topic comes up. Hopefully Hardee's will hire him full time soon so he has less spare time to clutter up this wonderful music blog.
BTW - I'm not much of a George Strait fan however this was quite an upstanding gesture on his part. It's no small feat to haul all their equipment back to KC in a few weeks. I imagine that alone with chew up a lot of their profits. Hmmm putting the fans first? Perhaps I'm a fan after all.

Pretty funny, they try to blame this DT for pretty much any opinion whcih disagrees with anything they say. I suppose it is a form of censorship, but if it makes them feel better, I dont mind. Sometimes my posts get called that, and sometimes other peoples posts get called that. I am not sure how many DTs there really are.
Again I welcome all who are felling the ill affects of listening to country music to call our office.

seth evens up there is an idiot,,if you dont like country music dont listen to it but dont bash people for their taste in music,,,to each his own
we were there last night george was clearly sick he is afterall human,,,i think it took a lot for him to come out there and "face the music" himself,,,i respect him for not sending someone else out to do what had to be done,,,i for one will go back next week looking forward to it,,,Get well soon George

sorry i yelled at the wrong guy sorry seth the previous comment was left for the narrow minded timothy guy,,,oh hes esquire does that mean he still wears short pants??? his mother must still dress him
Posted by: tana ocker | February 26, 2012 at 12:04 PM
Really? So it is people like tana that this is such a peaceful planet Earth. Good people like tana calling other people idiots for stating an opinion in a humerous way. tana wants to eliminate independent thoughts and opinions. tana needs everyone to agree with whatever tana thinks and says and then we can all get along, right tana?

I think its generous that George Strait is rescheduling his concert date to make it up to his fans. I've always been a George Strait fan. Timothy, its ok you don't like country music and I'm pretty sure George Strait is ok with it too. You clearly don't belong here. were all entitled to an opinion but If you don't like it then stay away from it. Your comments do not make you look intelligent. They only make you look like a smart ass. Country music stands for a lot of American values. And though were not all perfect and we do have faults and make mistakes, a lot of our artists are good ole country boys and cowgirls who have worked the land and cattle once before. and try to instill family values in their personal lives and through the music they write and sing. So take your negative remarks elsewhere.

Yeah Tomothy yew dont belong here
if yew aint no country fan. I bets yew must be a commie or taliban, so yew bes not say nuthin else. We dont cotton to yer kind round these parts, so yous bes hit the road and not speak yer pinion no more. We knows all we needs to knows and we dont need no more input from different types like yew. If you wanna post pionons here you bes be white and luv country music.

""I think its generous that George Strait is rescheduling his concert date to make it up to his fans.""
Generous? GENEROUS? What the hell are you talking about? This has NOTHING to do with generosity, he set the date, he sold the tickets, he better play the damn show! He has already made 1000's of people blow hundreds and hundreds of Dollars and now they have to spend hundreds more because of his "sickness". George was probably too drunk, too strung out on drugs or maybe he was hitting the crack pipe too late earlyn the morning, but those are his problems.
He IS NOT being generous, he simply does not want to refund money. He better show up ready to play next week so he better get to bed early.
These drunken and drugging ways are now famous and people are getting sick of these drug addict entertainers wasting our time and their lives. It is too common a story these days.

I've never been a fan of George, but I have respect for him and what he is doing is a total class act move. He gave it a shot, tried to see if adrenaline would take over and get him through the show. Two songs and it was obvious. Coming back in a week and bringing a stellar opener back to boot. Good for him and good for his fans. Enjoy it next week.

It does get forgotten that even celebrities are actually human beings who..get this...can get sick like the rest of us enough that working is just not an option.
Not a huge 'new' country fan but I have never observed Strait as the 'diva' type and he gains nothing from doing the show next weekend but is doing it anyway. Seems classy enough for me.
Posted by: Danny | February 27, 2012 at 12:14 AM
Timothy and Wayne the only word I can come up with to describe you two is dickhead. If you knew anything youd know George is not a drunkard or druggie and the fact that he went on stage and gave it a game try when it was obvious he was not doing good makes him more of man than you jackasses can ever hope to be.
Posted by: Lynda A | February 27, 2012 at 10:20 AM
I think this entire situation was handled well. I've been a Strait fan for years, and while I'm going to be out of town this Sat, I'm even more of a fan now for how George handled it. Reminds me of the Dr. Seuss quote " “Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and
those who matter don't mind.” It is just nice to see integrity and doing what's right still has a place in business.

Plus is it true Martina is also returning to open again and will be varying her show as to not duplicate? That would be like getting two shows (or like one full 2-hour set) from what is bascially a headlining act herself. I'm not a fan, but that would seem like win-win to me for those that can go to the makeup show.
Posted by: pellboy | February 27, 2012 at 01:49 PM
Well sugertits, I mean Lynda A sshole, so you think I am a dickhead.
Here are the rules. As long as people on this board choose to bash various types of music and artists, and they do, all the time, then that means EVERYONE AND ANYONE is fair game to get bashed, especially country drunken drug addicts like Georgeyboy here, maybe he needs to change his last name to crooked, cuz straight does not fit.
When they stop bashing bands I like, I will stop bashing bands they like and there will be peace on Earth and we can all live happily ever after.
Posted by: Wayne | February 27, 2012 at 02:38 PM
Your favorite band sucks.
Posted by: live music fan | February 27, 2012 at 03:16 PM
Wayne/DT, Lynda is right. You are a dickhead.
Posted by: and an asshole to boot | February 27, 2012 at 03:36 PM
so does your,
and I know you are, but what am I?
Posted by: and the beat goes on | February 27, 2012 at 03:40 PM
Will the real DT please stand up?
Seems like "DT" gets blamed for everything around here and there seems to be (at least) 2 or 3 of them, and now a real troll, or two, has been added to the mix who juts chimes in all the time adding nothing but more trollish comments. Then you throw in these Janey come lately pissoff country chicks and this place is more fun(or something) than a monkey house, and very similar.

I was just wondering....I'm assuming that an insurance policy is covering the expenses, but what's this re-do gonna cost? It'd be interesting to divide that number by the number of tickets to see what the Sprint Center's take of every concert ticket is. My guess is that it's in the $8 or $9 range per ticket.
