Very average Springsteen although I still think it's kind of catchy and makes for a good single off the new record. Like the images in that video, but Spingsteen's part in it has a pretty high cheese factor...the leather, some of the poses... and still can't wait for my pre-order to show up.

onthemark

Have yet to see it PB, will view on the home computer tonight (access restricted here at work).

So when you mention cheese factor do you mean like the video for 'Dancing In The Dark'???

pellboy

No, no way he could ever top that video. This is more of an aged cheese, like a parmesan.

wadkc

Enjoy the song but the vocals never catch fire like the chorus. I keep waiting for him to hit a step up in the range. He keeps it in the lower register. If just in the last chorus or something he hits it hard. Never happens.

onthemark

Okay, just watched it. Classic Bruce! You KNOW the ESB will tear it up live!

Green

Why is it subtitled ... am I missing something here? Sounds as though it's in English, why do I need to read along? They could have at least given me a bouncing ball to follow each word. Other videos have at least been cleaver about the words, be it INSX, I mean Dylan or Van Halen with Right Now, although those were not lyrics, just random words.

onthemark

Green, I heard the lyrics were put on the video so there would be no misunderstanding like there was with 'Born In The USA'.

Tellinitlikeitis

FKN BS song.

Just saw it played on the shammys. Yeah "we take of our own", since fkg when? unless he is talking about the 1%ers, people like George Bush/Dick Cheney.

Is Springsqueen part of the big con? Yes he is Is that how he arranged no special investigation, or charges, when his cousin died in KC? I always wondered how they skated out of town so easy on that deal. Try having someone OD on your watch, and see what happens.

Bruce has done nothing to change my opinion of his fake schtick, con job act. He has zero to with being for the working man. He is a zillionaire, telling lies.

Yeah "we take of our own", how about take care of the ones who need some help?

Springsteen = conman/joke

brian

@tellinitlikeitis

You're an idiot. Have you read the lyrics? The title "we take care of our own" is satirical on a lot of levels. He's saying we don't take care of our own. "Where's the promise from sea to shining sea?" "Where are the hearts that run over with mercy?" "We yelled 'help' but the cavalry stayed home" in reference to survivors of Hurricane Katrina. Pay attention to what he's really saying.

And as for his cousin's death, there was no need for investigation. He od'd on his own stuff. Or maybe there was an investigation, and we just don't know it. Bruce isn't the type to flaunt his actions to the public. He doesn't need headlines to prove his self-worth.

You are the joke.

NEW

So Tellinitlikeitis/DT. What exactly have you done lately?

tellingitlikeitis

Like Bruce I'm not " the type to flaunt my actions to the public ".

FACT>>> This is a BS song, from a BS poser artist. At frist I was kind and polite. I did not come into this thread and bash on your hero when it was posted, but if Mr full-of-sht Springsqueen want to pimp his latest BS song to open the shammys, then he is asking for it.

"WE TAKE OF OUR OWN"???
YEAH RIGHT!!!!.... SINCE WHEN?

Did you even notice that when he sings the part about "this flag"... he shows no flag, he knows this is all BS.... he knows he is singing about the 1%ers taking care of their own..... and Springsqueen is a VERY VERY WEALTHY member of the 1%ers, and he got there taking money from the common man.... and now he is going out to take some more of YOUR money.

NOT TO MENTION.... this is the same dang song, with the same formula BS, the same schtick this poser has done for 20 years.
