Aziz Ansari....I may be the one person on the planet that finds this guy to be unfunny and extremely annoying. Hipsters dig him and frankly, they can have him....and take his bland and equally humorless 'Parks & Recreation' co-star, Aubrey Plaza, with you.

I'll gladly take Aubrey Plaza off his hands.

I'm with you, SCD, I love me some Aubrey Plaza.
Speaking of Parks & Rec, Olathe has announced it's 2012 summer concert series and it's pretty effing good this year. Some of the familiar, Mark Selby, Sam Bush, Kelly Hunt and Liverpool, but glad to see a return of Mike Finnigan & Phantom Blues Band and really excited for this sort of rootsy "supergroup" called Royal Southern Brotherhood on that opening weekend. Click on their show and then check out their band link to see what I'm talking about. Best of all...FREE (and BYOB)!!!!

Hopefully we'll have a mild summer this year, because I've missed Sam Bush at Frontier Park two out of the past three years because of the heat. The one time that I did catch him was outstanding.

Yeah, caught Mr.Bush a couple of years ago out there and he was outstanding. Love how his show starts out as very traditional, old timey bluegrass and then evolves into some sort of free-form jam that wouldn't be out of place at Woodstock. Amazing. And if you haven't seen him, make a point of catching Mark Selby, a singer-songwriter with a sound that is sort of a blues/Americana mix. He used to be a regular out there is a headliner, good to see him back opening for TUF.

FYI for FREE!!!
"In performance at the White House" "Red White and Blues" featuring Mick Jagger is on at 8:00 tonight on CH 19.
Hope everyone has 3 TV sets with the Jayhwaks playing and the Daytona 500 running at the exact same time, then right afterwards, it is back to "57 Channels (And Nothin' On)"

When are Steve Martin tickets going on sale? Anyone know?
Posted by: 40wnks | February 27, 2012 at 06:39 PM
This will be your last (or first) time to see Glen Campbell. Should be a very emotional show. Can't wait.

Big Time Rush too 7/29. Hey, if the Fresh Beat Band can sellout the Midland, this can get 10K. Love the summer concert announcements season. Hoping Justice/Passion Pit comes to KC, they have a Red Rocks date together in August.

I know I missed the Sleigh Bells show last year, but sad they are (for now) skipping KC. Omaha 4/14 and OKC 4/16, and even Columbia 4/23.
Posted by: Steve J | February 28, 2012 at 05:22 PM
When Sleigh Bells fills out the rest of their incomplete band they will be allowed to come back to KC, until then, they can scam these other cities with their 3/5 of a band nonsense.
HIRE A DRUMMER AND A BASS PLAYER!!

Anyone know if Glenn Campbell is playing guitar on this tour? I enjoyed his Grammys performance but he's a heck of a picker.

The Horror.... The Horror....
Posted by: DT | March 02, 2012 at 03:08 PM
oops.... meant to say....
The whores... the whores who run that dump should be ashamed, the stench alone is enough to give the city just cause to shut it down.
Porta potties in the middle of the city? Because they are too cheap to install real plumbing? what a joke.
anyone going there should be required to wear a scarlett letter(s) DL (Dump Lover) and be subject to ridicule they deserve.... but I am sure the lymes disease they will get from being bitne by the ticks living in the mulch will teach them.
CAN I GET AN AMEN!!!!

Ramen! I hate that place. Too bad that Crosstown Station went out of business instead of them.
