Thanks for the heads-up on the Marshall Crenshaw show. There's only 55 tickets available, & I got 2. Been a fan since his debut album, but never got to see him live ( seems like he never plays KC ). STOKED.

I was at The Granada in Lawrence last night and was shocked by the awful renovations that they've made. Adding restrooms on the first floor was great, but the new balcony looks like crap. They were still painting and working on the balcony so I couldn't walk around up there, but I peeked through the door and could see that there's a big main balcony and maybe a lower tier toward the front. Anyway, it's weird.

Reminder: Ray Wylie Hubbard at Knuckleheads Friday night. Always a good time, RWH is quite the story teller! Hayes Carll opens.

Yes, otm...should be an excellent show tomorrow night at Knuckleheads!

Thanks for the info about the Journey Presale...TK. 13th Row!

Yeah, OTM, I will likely be there for Ray Wylie Hubbard tonight. I have seen Hayes Carll before and like him a lot, so this should be a good show. I also want to see Anthony Gomes tomorrow night at Knuckleheads. I did go to see Samantha Fish there last night, so am unsure I will make it a trifecta this weekend, but as for Samantha, man, is that girl a Rock Star at this point!
Samantha played to a packed crowd outdoors (not bad for a Thursday night!) and did an hour and 45 minutes, took a break to sell CDS, then popped back on stage for another hour of music. After her sold-out show there less than two months ago and last night's turnout, Samantha is becoming one of the city's biggest draws. It also seems that each time I see her, she gets better. Last night's show rocked.

btw, Samantha is opening for Royals Southern Brotherhood, a roots/blues supergroup of sorts with Mike Zito (Samantha's producer), Devon Allman, Cyril Neville and Yonrico Scott in a FREE (and BYOB!) concert @ Frontier Park in Olathe on Friday, June 8th.

That's pretty awesome that the city of Olathe puts on their free summer concert series. I'm planning on catching that show and the Sam Bush one.

Yeah, always a good time, LMF. Bush is great, seen him out there a couple of times before. Also check out the Phantom Blues Band w/ KC's own Mike Finnigan if you can.

Ray Wylie Hubbard put on a fine show last night. Weather could have been a factor but luckily all we got was a light sprinkle. Another HUGE crowd on hand, place was jampacked. RWH, backed by his drummer, played from 9-10:30, as always very entertaining!
Hayes Carll sounded pretty good and most of the crowd stuck around for his set. He had a full band and played a selection of crowd pleasing songs as well.

I saw Lied Center put out it's schedule. Of note here...Free Outdoor Concert with Buckwheat Zydeco, Friday, Sept. 7, 7 p.m., Ravi Shankar, Wednesday, Oct. 3, 7:30 p.m; Quixotic, Friday, Nov. 9, 7:30 p.m., An Evening with Suzanne Vega and daughter Ruby Froom, Saturday, Feb. 2, 7:30 p.m.

Yeah, I couldn't make that Ray Wylie Hubbard show as stuff came up at the 11th hour. Heard I missed a good one. I did make it to Knuckleheads for Anthony Gomes last night and he played for a couple minutes shy of two hours. Add the Hadden Sayers band opening the show and Lil Ed and The Blues Imperials closing it and it was a bargain at 15 bucks! It didn't rain on Anthony, who played outdoors and as soon as Lil Ed started indoors, the rain began to pour. Some immaculate timing last night!

Wow, so One Direction has already announced their summer 2013 tour. Thats early planning

Steve J, thanks for the info on Lied Center, definitely in for that free Buckwheat show.

Well looks like Phish tickets are nearly sold out after only being on sale for four days. Just sayin'

Looks like I'll be setting up my veggie burrito stand in Shelter#3 then.
Posted by: pellboy | May 01, 2012 at 12:14 PM
I'll come get some :)

Snagged 4 tickets in Plaza 2. Ready to rage right now!

Pollstar has Carrie Underwood at the Sprint Center on Dec 15th. I'm just saying.

Was away from home all day Saturday and didn't get Phish tix until Sunday. Best I could do was Terrace 4 Row XX. I would argue that there isn't a bad seat at Starlight but I'd rather be closer. BTW, until Robert Smith lost his voice, The Cure at Starlight was one of the best shows I have seen at that venue outside SRV & WSP.

Just checked, only thing left is SRO. Pell, I'm up for a burrito and a beer. Let me know if you head out there. Always up to patronizing a budding entreprenuer.

Bowie at Starlight would be my top.
