Go to this show!!! Dan Deacon, Nov. 2, Granada. $12. His warehouse gig a couple years ago sent my gf to the car and mesmerized me, haha, we did london bridges falling down out of the hall, down the stairs and into the streets of the west bottoms and then all ran back inside under all the arms of everyone. There was also a wolf boy and running circle set to music!

Heartless Bastards at the Riot Room will be a cool show and I finally have to make it a point to see Paul Thorn. I have yet to see him live and he is playing three consecutive shows at Knuckleheads in November, so I have no excuse. I'm thinking about going to see Reverend Horton Heat and Lucero on Saturday, but the temps might keep me away. When I was a younger lad, I could handle any conditions for a show, but nowadays, If it's over 90 degrees for an outdoor show, or if I have to drive on ice to get to a show, most likely I'll pass. Must be gettin' old......
At Knuckleheads last night, I saw a talented young Blues singer named Gina Sicilia and sadly, only about 15 people were there. Not a bad show, but her band was kind of dull. She bragged about her guitarist, who produced and played 95% of the instruments on her new CD, yet he was one of the least talented guitar players I've ever seen at that place. I had a friend in Junior High who could play flawless Skynyrd, Nugent, and Molly Hatchet riffs and was better at 14 than this guy is now. His leads were almost embarrassing at times....and he didn't appear drunk or high. So, if Gina can't get a new band and liven her songs up a little, she might be going places.

Heat could still be a factor but Paul Thorn will also be playing the Paola Roots Festival on Saturday, Aug.25th. Following Split Lip Rayfield and Samantha Fish and just before Los Lonely Boys and all for just $10/BYOB. It doesn't get much better than that!

This is on a separate topic. I just saw on Ticketmaster that the postponed Van Halen shows are now listed as cancelled. Someone is going to be losing a lot of money on this. I wonder what happened to Van Halen.

I was checking out Pollstar and it looks like Bruce Springsteen & ESB is not coming to Kansas City.
He's in Europe now and has some North America shows that end in New Jersey. The NJ shows are probably the end of the tour.
I'm not a big fan but, Bruce owes Kansas City a make up show.

The NJ shows are not the end of this tour. Bruce will be back to play KC again, count on it!
