Pretty good show. Fun and energetic and at times sexy. I realize they don't have a deep catalog as yet, but it seemed to be a fairly short set. I'm not even sure if it even reached 90 minutes. Thought they could have done another cover or two as their sound is tailor-made for some old soul/r&b hits. The "Sweet Dreams" cover should have been right in their wheelhouse as well, but I thought it was rushed and fell kind of flat.

Thought the heat would be worse, but it was bearable. And as for Crossroads, it was fine with the perfect-sized crowd for that joint. Easy access to $3 beers inside Grinders, I was golden. Enjoyed the show for the most part as did most of the crowd but glad I didn't pay for it.

Evenings have still been decent lately as the humidity has been down below 30%. Once that sun drops, it's not too bad.

Exactly, joe. I wasn't dancing it up or anything like alot of the folks last night, but I wasn't sweating like I normally do on the typical KC summer night of past years where the high humidity hangs around even thru the evenings. And no mosquitos, there are some advantages to extremely hot and dry weather.

Nice write up Tim. I always enjoy reading a backstory on the formation of a band!

Speaking of band formation (this has nothing to do with this post, a buddy sent it to me and I thought it was interesting):

Paul McCartney and John Lennon met for the first time on July 6, 1957, at the St. Peter Church Fete in Woolton, Liverpool, England. Lennon was playing in his band, the Quarry Men, and a mutual friend and sometimes bandmate, Ivan Vaughan, brought McCartney along and introduced the two.

i am the fans of the band, i like their music very much,so i will support them .
