Not mentioning that Primus is in 3D? Yeah, it's stupid.
Posted by: Bewlay | August 02, 2012 at 01:44 PM
Was checking out Trans-Siberian Orchestra's website and yesterday they announced their 2012 winter tour. It's at the Sprint Center on December 9th (Sun) for two shows at 3:00 and 7:30. TSO will be performing The Lost Christmas Eve album in its entirety.
It said that there will be more lights, lasers, pyrotechnics and a few surprises on the flight deck. I don't know when, tickets are going on sale.

Count me in for Keller and also Steve Kimock. Would love to catch the Punch Brothers again but can't do middle of the week shows.
What's stupid about Primus in 3D though?
It's groundbreaking. 3D presented in a live concert format. I'm intrigued at least. You'd probably trip your balls off.
If anything is stupid is the about of lame films they release in 3D these days just for the sake of being "3D"

at 8am this morning, Ticketmaster did not show the KC Springsteen?
Posted by: Ken | August 03, 2012 at 08:07 AM
the Springsteen show is sold through axs.com
Posted by: Matt | August 03, 2012 at 08:08 AM
Yep, http://www.axs.com/kansas-city-mo/music-events/bruce-springsteen-and-the-e-street-band-2012november17-37259.html I panicked when I didn't see them on Ticketmaster too. Looks like AEG and AXS are gonna control Sprint Center Tix for most majors.
Posted by: Tom | August 03, 2012 at 08:47 AM
And that should be a good thing as they at least offer same day box office sales. TM made fans wait until the following MONDAY to purchase from SC box office. Still just another conglomo, but at least they're working with fans a little bit.
Posted by: pellboy | August 03, 2012 at 08:50 AM
Bought tickets for Springsteen, just wanted to point out that $25.50 of my purchase was fees, and $5 was to mail my tickets. They didn't offer the option to print either. Ridiculous.
Posted by: Courtney | August 03, 2012 at 10:18 AM
I dunno about AXS. I just got the highest tier ticket price 2 chairs for Bruce in Nov at $237 and they are TERRIBLE seats. I specified lower level and got the back of the Auditorium. If anybody else was playing I would not bother to even go to the Show. This was after being in the "Waiting Room" for 8 minutes after the Sale started. I don't know how you get any decent seats out of this system. Sure seems rigged to me. They must be reserving all the Good Seats for somebody other than the general public. But, what are you gonna do. Its a take it or leave it and the Secondary Market is already asking Grand Theft prices. ($500 - $1000)
Posted by: Tom | August 03, 2012 at 10:18 AM
Outbox should rename their service "Outhouse Technology". Nice crap job on the AXS Springsteen tickets at the Sprint "so you can wait at one of two entrances to get in" Center. Not enough for me to say I miss Ticketmaster, because I dont. However, even though both services
take the great seats, re-sell them to brokers, and leave us with crap, we had a chance to see how bad the tickets we would not buy were going to be before we rejected them.
Posted by: Marcos | August 03, 2012 at 10:20 AM
Just picked up an Upper Level seat on Sprint Center site. I asked to find another ticket twice and it brought the same seat up each time and then threatened to kick me off the waiting list if I didn't take it. I almost didn't. I'm not at all a fan of the "Wrecking Ball" album, but know that Bruce and band will still put on a great show. But I'd rather go through Ticketmaster than deal with The Sprint Center site again!

Why is it asking me to check my email for a password? What the hell?
Posted by: jjskck | August 03, 2012 at 10:30 AM
I've used axs twice now and have had good success with them but I've had too many issues with ticketmaster to count so I don't doubt that axs isn't much better.
Got 2 floor tickets for Bruce so I'm excited! I'm curious to hear how the folks that went down to the Sprint Center fared.
Posted by: Matt | August 03, 2012 at 10:30 AM
Yeah the Final Insult from AXS, Pay them 5 bucks to mail me an envelope via US Mail. How much is a stamp these days? The Fees were more than the $29 tickets they advertise. By the way I would guess there are about 400 chair in all of Sprint Center for those $29 tickets. The Who show in Tulsa was handled by another of these Non Ticketmaster groups and it was a fiasco too. I got chairs but not where I wanted considering what they cost. I have been cursing TM for 20 years but methinks I dost complain too much !
Posted by: Tom | August 03, 2012 at 10:30 AM
I was excited to hear of another ticketing provider but it's the worse of two evils type situation. Hopefully the news from folks that bought tickets at the box office is positive so I can go that route too next time.
Posted by: Matt | August 03, 2012 at 10:34 AM
jjskck, my buddy got that same prompt about a password and said he clicked accept until it went away. I just did the same thing and it took about 10 clicks and it's gone.
That is ridiculous.
Posted by: Matt | August 03, 2012 at 10:39 AM
Box Office Report. About 100 people or so there. Took them about 15 minutes to get thru the line. Took me 5 as I was 35-40 back from the 1st number. Could have got pretty fair seats I'm sure but opted for the $31.00, which they only offered 2 sections of.
No service charge and totally smoth going.
I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE to pay service fees.
Posted by: RogerWilco | August 03, 2012 at 10:56 AM
Hearing reports of many people screwed by the phantom password request. Total BS. Good people trying to see one of their faves shut out by some glitch. Good job Sprint Center. Makes that "convenience fee" real convenient when you drop the ball on your end.
Posted by: joe | August 03, 2012 at 11:03 AM
Finally after much frustration I got two cheapos. Paid $29 per ticket and got dinged $26 in fees. If getting to the box office were possible for me today, I'd have done so. Breakdown:
2 tix @$ 29.00=$ 58.00
2 Facility Fee @$ 2.00 = $4.00
2 Convenience Fee @$ 10.75 =$21.50
1 Standard Mail Delivery =$ 5.00
Total Cost: $ 88.50
There is indeed something worse than TicketMaster. I never thought I'd utter that phrase.
Posted by: jjskck | August 03, 2012 at 11:13 AM
Ticketmaster/Sprintcenter.com vs Payday lenders.
Which one is worse? Discuss...
Posted by: joe | August 03, 2012 at 11:16 AM
My brother hopped onto axs.com at 10 til 10ish. Opted for best available, which was sec 103 row 13 (for 4 seats). Which looks to be at about 7 o'clock if the stage is at noon.
Posted by: Ryno | August 03, 2012 at 11:17 AM
I went to the box office. Got there a little after 9:00. Maybe 20 people already there. They handed out line numbers at 9:30, by then there were 75 or so people in line. They draw the number of a gal standing right behind me, so I ended up going all the way to the back of the line. However, when I got to the ticket window I asked for a specific section and they had front row seats still available so I snagged 6 of them. there was a limit of 4 tickets for the floor or 8 tickets anywhere else. Worth it just to avoid those stupid service charges!
Posted by: onthemark | August 03, 2012 at 11:26 AM
RogerWilco and onthemark: thank you for the reports.
Looks like I'm going to the box office for the next one.
Posted by: Matt | August 03, 2012 at 11:37 AM
I got two tickets in LL this morning about 10:05. Then decided I would get two more in GA if available and make a decision the day of show what I wanted to do. AXS was asking for a password that I didn't have. Maybe it was a sign I only needed two tix. Very excited about the show!
Posted by: Musicgal | August 03, 2012 at 11:42 AM
According to posts on backstreets.com, the password snafu was a common one.
Glad the box office approach worked well for those who tried it--those fees are a bitch!
Posted by: kcmom | August 03, 2012 at 11:45 AM
""They draw the number of a gal standing right behind me, so I ended up going all the way to the back of the line.""
awwww, aint karma a bitch. Couldnt have happened to a more deserving person.

Yeah, got nailed with the password thing too.
Signed onto another pc and got right through. Wasn't asked for a pwd in the 2nd window...
Posted by: klemmer | August 03, 2012 at 01:39 PM
What's with all the drama? Sent my wife down there about an hour ago and picked up a decent pair of aisle seats, 3 rows back in our section. :)
Posted by: pellboy | August 03, 2012 at 03:22 PM
I think it's a draw between AXS and TM. AXS has fees for mail delivery and will call tickets but, has free online priting of your own tickets. AXS lets you get tickets at the box office when, tickets go on sale.
TM has no fees on mail delivery and will call tickets. The service fees are about the same and too expensive.
This is some extra news. Tickets for TSO start going on sale September 14th. I don't know if it's for all shows or, some shows.

Noticed that Bruce Springsteen has GA floor so, no seats. This is getting more popular and U2 in November 2001 at Kemper was the first tour in the USA that had GA floor. It's common in Europe to have GA floor. I like this set up and easier and safer to not have seats possibly tossed about.

What a great post! I am just a beginner in community management/marketing media and trying to learn how to do it well - resources like this article are incredibly helpful. As our company is based in the United States, it's all a bit new to us. The example above is something that I worry about as well, how to show your own actual enthusiasm and share the fact that your product is useful in that case.
