The former lead singer for Veda/Vedera has embarked on a solo career and is working on a solo album. In the meantime she has been asked to join the Texas band Flyleaf, whose lead singer, Lacey Sturm, recently left the band. Here's the note May posted to her fans on Facebook:
A couple of months ago, I was approached with the opportunity to sing for the Texas band, Flyleaf. Their singer Lacey has decided to leave and they asked me to come hang out and audition. I liked the guys in the band (along with their sweet wives and girlfriends) immediately. Rehearsal was a blast and I really enjoy their new album, New Horizons. I will be joining them for their upcoming shows supporting the new album, being released October 30th. This by no means will put my solo career on the back burner. I’m finally honing in on the sound I’m going for and couldn’t be more excited. Playing with Flyleaf will give me a chance to get back on the road and will only spur on the creativity I’m engulfed in. It’s also an opportunity to work with great people who are as passionate about music as I am. Thank you everyone for your support. I hope you come out to some Flyleaf shows as well as my solo tour as soon as my album is released. Much love to you!
Cheers to the journey,
