I always chuckle when people complain about the silliness of new band's names, as if bands hadn't always had silly names. Anyway, with that lineup I wouldn't bother going even if it was still in Lawrence (yes, I know there are still more to be announced).

What LMF, you mean you pass up the 30th variation of The Samples? Alas, me too with what's been announced so far. Savoy? Maybe it they added the Brown.

I thought you were a WSP guy, PB although I admit one is better off waiting for them to come back to the Midland.
There's actually a few acts here (The Motet, Mountain Standard Time, etc). It's just that most have never played or received airplay in KC before. The line up makes me think "Boulder/Nederland goes on a field trip to Arkansas" since that is where many of the bands are from.
I think it's fair to say that Pipeline is not aiming Waka at KCs tastes. Instead, it is aimed at the festival crowd making the trek between Bonnaro and Telluride.

Yeah, I'm down with Panic and have never seen Son Volt, but that's just not enough to get me to take that roadtrip. Yet.

Okay, so I see this Allen Stone that some of B2R has been touting is on the bill and notice that he was also on Ellen Degeneres yesterday so I decide to check out what all the fuss is about. My conclusion, amazingly talented, I'll grant him that but something just didn't quite click with me. I just get the white guy/girl trying too hard to be black/soulful ala Mayer Hawthorne/Joss Stone/Robin Thicke and that all just rings a little too Simply Red for me who prefers his soul music a little less slick. Maybe a grittier, sweaty, actual live club performance might sway me another way, but I guess I'm just not feeling it like Ellen was.

I really realy hate them gadamed hippies, and their drum circles.

I don't plan to go to the festival but, have been close to Ozark, AR before. It was in May 1990 I was near Pruitt and Jasper, AR floating the Buffalo national river. I floated the upper section of this amazing river. It's not spring fed like a lot of Ozark streams are but, the scenery is second to none.

It probably will, but a festival set might not. I've downloaded all of his shows from the Live Music Archive and most of them are festival sets and the show from The Granada blows them away. I've also watched most of his official videos and tv appearances on YouTube and I haven't been impressed with any of them, so I think I know what you're talking about...but I've never heard the music of the people you mentioned, so maybe I don't.
