YEAR'S BEST MUSIC | FANS, MUSICIANS, AFICIONADOS PICK THEIR FAVORITES

This week in Preview, we ran our annual compilation of "Best of/Top 10" lists submitted by more than three dozen music fans and observers around Kansas City and Lawrence. No one album emerged as the concensus year's best, but a few were mentioned several times. Among them: "Return to Cookie Mountain" by TV on the Radio. Here's the video to "Wolf Like Me," one of my favorite songs from 2006.

PHOTO EXHIBIT | HAVE COFFEE WITH STEVE EARLE, BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN PHOTOS BY MIKE WEBBER Mike Webber has appeared in this space before: He wrote this splendid review of a Pogues' show this summer, which was picked up by several Web sites, including one devoted to the Pogues. OVer the years, Webber has collected lots of photographs taken at the hundreds of rock shows he has attended. CONCERT REVIEW | THE WRECKERS AT THE BEAUMONT CLUB The Wreckers’ show at the Beaumont Club on Friday was the duo’s second in Kansas City in two months. Their first was at the VooDoo Lounge in October. Even before that show, the Wreckers booked the Beaumont gig, primarily because the VooDoo’s 21-and-older policy had excluded a lot of younger fans. Friday, a lot of those fans were among the 1,000 or so people who showed up at the Beaumont Club to see the Wreckers. Many of them were family and friends of Kansas City native Jessica Harp.
