OK, the audio is waaaay old and I have no clue what the video is supposed to have to do with the songs.

There's more than one way to do an original cover. Mixing Fischerspooner's Emerge with the original Billy Squier is original. Traditional musicians sometimes balk at DJs being considered on the same level as those that originally wrote and played the material, but at least it's not boring. Nothing is worse than a by the numbers cover version. Why bother.
As a band, you have to make it your own. Going back the Beatles covering the Isley Brother's "Twist and Shout", to Van Halen's multiple covers of Kink's songs like "You Really Got Me". There's no confusing with the original and the cover band put their own stamp on it and created a new sound.
