On the 10 o'clock news, Channel 4 had sportscaster Jason Something shilling for the Sprint Center. During the media pitch, with cameras inside ... there was a special guest" tease. The picture was of McCartney ... with his body silhouetted out. Viewers just saw the famous left-handed bass in that publicity shot where it looks like he's running at the camera. His Oct. 13, I believe, guest shot at the Sprint Center may or may not be news to those of this group.
Someone else in the know assured me that neither the Blue Man Group nor "Disney High School Musical: The Ice Tour," will be the inaugural show at Sprint.
Here's a review of a McCartney in-store (can you imagine?) around the time of his "Memory Almost Full" release.
Other shows officially on the way:
Over the Rhine at the Grand Emporium on Oct. 2, a Tuesday
The New Pornographers at Liberty Hall, Nov. 4, a Sunday.
i just got an email about another show on the way - Ben Harper at the Uptown on sunday, 9/2.

Sir Paul rocks. The guy is unbelievable in concert. One of the few concerts that I felt like I didn't pay enough money for.

Got another upcoming show for ya; I'm an ASCAP affiliated musician and publisher from Chicago showcasing my latest project, Identity Crises Incorporated, here in Kansas City over the front end of August.
The music spans indie rock, jazz, r&b, and world, e.g. bossa nova. I'm streaming four tracks of the project at http://www.myspace.com/idcinc . Our Kansas City set will include these as well as several jazz and bossa nova standards, e.g. Garota de Ipanema, Fly Me to the Moon, and Autumn Leaves.
The first live performance will be at the Oak Street Coffee Shop on Tuesday, August 7th, from 6:30-8:30pm. Suggested donation is $3-5 with the purchase of a bottomless cup of locally roasted coffee for less than $2.
peace,
Jacob S. Heiss
