The Foo Fighters are filling in their 2008 tour, and just like old times: Kansas City is not the list. The tour does stop in Oklahoma City and garden spots like Fayetteville, Ark., and Council Bluffs, Iowa. There is a 16-day gap from early to mid-February.
-----------------
Speaking of tours we'll never get: Jason Bonham tells Billboard he has no idea whether Led Zeppelin will put together some kind of tour. No one is telling him; he's only the son of the long-gone drummer. Meanwhile, he's going back to keeping time for Foreigner.
-----------------
Return to Forever is getting together to do 30 to 40 shows this summer with the "classic" lineup: Chick Corea, Stanley Clarke, Al Di Meola and Lenny White. Di Meola's Web page only says: "RTF IS OFFICIALLY BEING BOOKED FOR NEXT SUMMER 08"

Kansas City filmmaker, photographer and music manager Harley Sears is now navigating the career of punk anarchist Kristeen Young. She opened for Morrissey in May at the Uptown Theater (and was discharged from the tour in October, allegedly for an on-stage, off-the-cuff remark about oral sex).
According to Sears:
Kristeen has spent the past 19 months touring with Morrissey, and is preparing to enter the studio to record her 6th album (the 4th to be produced by legendary record producer Tony Visconti).
Young recently recorded a duet with Morrissey ("Sweetie Pie") and has also recorded a vocal part on an upcoming Morrissey single called "That's How People Grow Up." In the past, she's recorded duets with David Bowie and Brian Molko of Placebo.

More than a dozen country music stars in Mexico have been murdered in the past 18 months, according to a recent story in The New York Times. Some of the murders have been horrific. One of the victims, Grammy nominee Sergio Gómez, 34, was "beaten, tortured with a cigarette lighter, then strangled with a plastic cord."

The New York Post is famous and infamous for its tasteless headlines. But the headline over its recent Ike Turner story was way out-of-bounds: "Ike 'beats' Tina to death.' Classy.
Tim,
What are the chances of Genesis coming to KC?
