An observer we trust (and a Yes sympathizer) sends this e-mail about the pre-sale for the band's show at Starlight Theatre in August:
Nokia Ticketrush password: rock
Yesworld password: edge
Yes is asking $150 for Orchestra tickets, $75 for Plaza, $59.50 for upper-level Plaza and $39.50 for Terrace.
I hope they don't have their lonely hearts set on selling out Starlight. It'd be more impressive to put up the dividers in front of the Terrace and sell out the front.
At reasonable prices.
When I saw them at Sandstone several years ago, they pulled in about 5,500. And tickets didn't cost that much. And Rick Wakeman was with them.
Starlight is a great venue. Why this band isn't in the HOF after 40yrs is beyond me. You expect to pay big-boy prices for big-boy acts. Think of it as a Chiefs game, except with talent. The band will be intact except for Wakeman and his son is going to play. Anybody heard of Led Zeppelin? Heard that went pretty well with Bonham's boy there.

That's a stretch. I like Yes a lot; and Starlight is a great venue. But $150-plus per? Yeow. And Led Zep hadn't performed in, what, 25-plus years?

Big boy prices for big boy acts. Way to rationalize raping the consumer Mike.

this show will be cancelled due to illness.
Someone is sick in the head to think people are paying those prices.
Would not have been a sell out even if all seats were $39.50.
What a joke, yes I want groups to come to town, but get real. YES is a fantastic group, but this is 2008. Maybe they could have demanded high prices in 1978, not now.
All 1500 people that go, enjoy.
