Here's what I was told last night at Sandstone regarding Friday's show: G.A. capacity in front of the stage is 5,500. However, JJ is limiting the size of the crowd up front to 5,000. So 5K wristbands will be distributed first-come/first-serve and you'll need one to get a spot way down front. That means an extra 500 people on the lawn.
They're expecting more than 18,000 people. If you've been to Sandstone when 18K-plus people are there (Aerosmith), you know how hellacious that can be. Prepare for lines. Parking lots open at 3 p.m. Gates at 5 p.m. Show time is 7 p.m. Coffee served until midnight. Afterward, troopers will conduct Driving Under the Influence of Sleep checkpoints. (Kidding; I'll be there. I love big shows.)
Heh, heh, heh....To see a chilled-out, mellow mob of Jack Johnson fans fighting over reserved seats is almost worth going to see. Almost. It's the closest thing to a Mosh-Pit Jack Johnson will ever see!

Another performer who has outkicked his coverage, gotten too big and lost their charm.

Are sleeping bags allowed in the mosh pit?

I hate when people blame performers for being successful. At least he's using his fame for a good cause.

Lol @ RaiderHawk. No man sleeping bags aren't allowed, but hammock's are!

The guy sold 1 million records via his own indie label. No matter what you think of his music, you must respect that, especially these days.

Will the wristbands be made of hemp? Or fast-food grease? Can we eat them? Are they biodegradable?

Openers: His label clients, Neil Halstead and Rogue Wave. I'd guess he'll come on before 9 p.m.

I just caught Rogue Wave at Lollapalooza. For those of you heading out to see Jack, be sure you get there early enough to see Rogue Wave.
