From Wired:
An anonymous tipster seems to have contacted several Mac rumor publications with rumors about an unlimited music subscription within iTunes.
According to the e-mail, Apple will charge U.S.-based customers $130 per year (or $100 for MobileMe subscribers) for an "iTunes Unlimited" subscription starting in late October that will include the ability to download about half of the songs in the iTunes store in a 256-Kbps format -- presumably AAC files that are protected by an updated, subscription-capable version of Apple's Fairplay DRM. The rumored subscription would only include half of the songs in the store because offering music under a subscription plan requires a new deal with copyright holders.
More here.
Did the e-mail mentioned whether or not the downloads would be permanent or on a loan-based system like other subscriptions?

That doesn't really make since... an "Unlimited" subscription that you can only get about half of the music available. Sounds like a rip off to me!

It just like microsoft points
where you upgrade your account to certain level and then find out that you cant download any games at all, because they are locked...

that's great, it's funny because Apple will most likely lose possible customers. It's just another way for the founder Steve Jobs to drain money.

This would be a very interesting concept that I'm sure many would go for. The problem arises when you no longer wish to subscribe and your library is gone.

of Scott's freeze on state contracts; a type of frequently-asked-questions page related to Scott's halt on rule-making; a database of executive office and executive agency salaries; and links to the governor's official web site where you can submit a public records request and another for "frequently requested records."

This should be improve more. so that those people who had the old models of ipods will still gonna enjoy. and the numbers of music that will be download should not be just half of the song , they really need to fix this.

this is nice but still lock of improvement on it. and i don't think the apple company will get more earnings on this knowing that you will only can download half of the songs on the playlist. if they really want to gain more earnings they should think on much effective and beneficiary to those who have old and new ipod , ipad etc.
