There was a concert at sandstone that was selling CDs of whatever show it was right after the show. only saw it that one time and never again. great amazing concept though.

Kirsten, the Fillmore in SF does something like that. There is a kiosk in the lobby where you just insert a credit card and out comes a burned CD. Sort of like Red Box. Of course it depends on the artist. It's really great. Recordings are right off the board.

the only question is
WHY WOULDNT ANY RESPECTABLE musician want to do this?
I know bubba's girlfriend brittney wont do it, cuz she is a total fake, and all her "my pussy is hanging out" talk would do well like that....
but
any RESPECTABLE artist should have zero problem
selling this,,,heck sell the video too ...WHY NOT?
ps
sorry bub, she was the first "wont do it" I could think of, and, well, you know,
no, you will never hear the end of this ; )

Kirsten - you might be thinking of the KISS concert with POISON as opener in 2004 at Verizon. After the show, you had to purchase a special voucher for $25 - then wait in line at one of the trailers they had set up. Upside is, I saw the very same show on Ebay a month later for $5 postpaid as a 'But It Now' item and got it there. Concerts co$t enough THESE days to have to buy a recording after the show, HAVE to admit I love the concept. I JUST don't wish to 'hear' the concert I JUST left until maybe a little while later.

I too would love for all artists to provide a copy of their live show. Seems like a win/win as long as they’re not charging too much for the recording. There’s an outfit called PlayedLastNight.com which records shows and makes them available on-line a week or so after the show. I purchased The Swell Season show at the Uptown for around $10 and the artist gets a percentage from the items sold. The recording is incredible quality plus you get all of the banter between tunes. Unfortunately they only have 2 artists which are part of this service. Hopefully their artist list will expand in the near future.
