Filter is back in town tonight, about a year after it headlined a show at the VooDoo Lounge (above). This one is free -- part of the Power and Light Rock the Block Series. But you have to be at least 21 to get in. Show time is 8 p.m. Looking for something else to do on the cheap? Here you go:
Harry's Country Club: Tater & the Gravy Train churn out the country classics and rareities starting at 6:30 p.m. down in the River Market. It's free.
RecordBar: Bob Walkenhorst hosts his weekly evening of song featuring himself and his assorted friends and guests. Showtime is 7 p.m. Cover is $5.
The Brick: Terrance Moore (American Catastrophe) and Mikal Shapiro (formerly of the Boon and Eudora among others) do the singer/songwriter thing. If you've seen them at the Czar Bar, you know how nicely they play together.
If ya wanna go old school, Eddie Money is playing at Crown Center tomorrow night for Free! They are only having two free shows this year (Jo Dee Messina-hope I spelled that right-will be there next Friday). I enjoyed many of the free shows back in the 80's, especially getting to see true Classic Rock acts like Johnny Rivers, Tommy James, Roger McGuinn, and even Roy Orbison, free of charge.

The Johnny Rivers show at Crown Center really stands out to me. Others of note...Don McLean, America and Donovan.

Eddie Money for free? I thought it was Money for nothing and chicks for free.

Wouldn't mind catching EDDIE MONEY at Crown Center - mostly because -
1) It has been a slow week (for me).
2) Weather will likely be nice.
Downside: I seriously doubt I'll be able to stay awake - nothing against MONEY - I've simply never been a fan of his.

Any review for this show or at least a setlist?

Red, yeah - all that sounds great and all. But THINK for a minute - is it EVEN worth trying to meet women at concerts anymore? Seems like EVERYONE is a player these days. LOVE the way so many people (from every walk of life) SWEAR up and down they're SO honest, reliable and a 'good' person - ALMOST as if they NEED to brag about it.
I go STRICTLY for the music anymore.

Kind of nice being middle aged, married, going to concerts (usually alone, we have different music taste) and women isn't even on my mind, (okey, I might peek).

I AM SO HONEST, AND
I AM RELIABLE, AND
I AM WORLD RENOWNED FOR BEING GOODEST PERSON EVER.
I DONT MEAN TO BRAG, or yell, ;) or anything, but let me tell you, the good will company might name me the goodest human EVER, cuz I do so much good, and I am so very reliable,, I may be the most reliablest person ever, they should make a statue of me, to recognise how good I am.
Of course, I would never brag about it, but does anybody have a mirror I can borrow?
I am not braggin, I am just sayin ; )
reallyJK;)
