Here's the schedule for the three-night How the Buzz Stole XXXmas. TIckets on saale at 10 a.m. Saturday. Pre-sales start Wednesday. A great local band opens each night:
You can buy tickets individually or get a three-show package for $70.
- Dec. 5: Florence and the Machine, Two Door Cinema Club, Cowboy Indian Bear ($37.75)
- Dec. 6: 311, The Naked And Famous, Surfer Blood, Soft Reeds ($32.75)
- Dec. 7: Flogging Molly, Matt & Kim, Company of Thieves, Antennas Up ($27.75)
Why did they have to ruin night 2 with 311? Are they required to play every buzz show?

I was really hoping to catch surfer blood at a small venue like the record bar, grr oh well, guess its better than nothing.

Huh, if anything, 311 would be the selling point for me (well, maybe 15 years ago) as they're the only band that I've even heard of on that night.
Oh well, thankfully the Buzz came thru on the Halloween show. These acts don't do much for me.

There is one band each night that I'd be interested, and I've seen all three of them in the KC area already this year.

Night three is where it's at.

I think they could have done one great show or even two good shows, but with a third show you get to work in local bands in all three. Might be fun to see 311, I have not seen them since the late 90's when they got popular off Down.

311 is still a good live show imo, but this should go in that Wild Flag thread as you will feel like an eccentric grandpa around all those young kids. For that I actually give them credit, they've been able to cultivate an almost completely new fanbase of young people over the years since their early heyday and have been able to endure because of that as their music is not the type that ages well with fans. Having said that, their new album (a tight 30 min...no filler) was sort of a throwback to those early days...crunching guitars, heavier rhythms, closest thing to Music/Grassroots/Blue Album in years.
That's actually more analysis than 311 probably deserves, but what the heck.

It's sad that the Buzz Freeloader pre-sale option is only for the three nights package. I want Florence tickets, and I want Flogging Molly tickets- nights one & three. No Can Do says ticketmaster, freeloader option is all or none. Grr.

Yea not digging the 3 night pkg, I thought you would be able to buy one night presales but its all or nothing, I want just one night, thinking i might pass, I really jus want to see Surfer Blood, pretty sure I will catch them in a year or so without the hassle of a large show.

Of course you can not buy single night tickets on the presale. What do you think this is a charity?
The buzz ONLY does this to make money. The buzz is run are cut throat business people, and that is it. Dont believe that? Look at how they handled the (not allowing) advertising of Kanrocksas.
The buzz is an out of town entity that is only in this concert bussiness for the money. The buzz cares less about the music than any other promoter, and if you dont like it, you know what you can do.
Now quit complaining and get in line. Shut up and pay the man.
