The Dead Weather, with Jack White and Alison Mossheart

Wish we could say they were on the way, but here they perform "60 Feet Tall" (the song starts at about 1:40). Video is from the crowd, so there are a couple of hoopleheads to listen over, but otherwise the sound isn't bad.

The album, "Horehound," is scheduled for a June 9 release.

The Dead plans to tour

In case you hadn't heard, the (Grateful) Dead are reuniting for a tour this year, with Gov't Mule guitarist Warren Haynes on lead guitar and vocals and Jeff Chimenti on keyboards.

All right, gang. We've had a swell time making fun of one another's favorite songs of 2008. 

Now we're getting serious.

This is a strangely difficult category for me this year. I think maybe it's because I don't really think "albums" anymore.
